Refugee Children's School
The PCO Refugee School aims to educate war-affected children so that they can develop into peaceful and productive citizens. The school provides free education to its students. In addition to the Ghanaian approved curriculum, key components of the educational activities at the school are to teach children to live together peacefully and to solve their problems in a not-violent way. The teachers of PCO Refugee School are committed to bettering both the academic as well as the peace- building and cultural education of the children.
The services offered by the PCO Refugee School are supported by the Population Caring Organization and are free of charge. The teachers will be responsible and committed to the ideals, standards and principles of the organization as well as the implementation of the mission statement and teacher handbook.
The teachers of the PCO Refugee School are committed to the children in the Buduburam Refugee Camp. Each of the teachers recognizes the inherent dignity of children, their innate values, including freedom and fear from violence, their right to education and their role in creating a better tomorrow.
